Our Story

Built by Families, for Families

Fernvale began when one family found that the care system offered very little for older adults who wanted to stay at home. We built the service we wished had existed.

Who We Are

A Small Team That Takes Its Work Personally

Fernvale was founded in Taipei with a clear purpose: to make it possible for elderly individuals to remain in their own homes, well cared for, with dignity intact. The organisation grew from conversations between adult children who found themselves managing full-time careers and ageing parents simultaneously — and discovering how few good options existed.

We began with a small group of skilled caregivers and a simple belief: that careful matching, honest communication, and genuine attention make for better care outcomes than scale alone. That belief has shaped every decision since.

Today, Fernvale operates across Taipei, serving families in Songshan, Xinyi, Da'an, Zhongshan, and neighbouring districts. Our team of aides and coordinators brings a collective wealth of experience in elder support, personal care, and family communication.

Our Mission

To support elderly individuals in living at home with comfort, safety, and meaningful connection, while giving their families the reassurance they need.

Our Vision

A Taipei where every older adult who wishes to remain at home has access to skilled, respectful, and consistently available care.

Our Values

Patience, transparency, and respect for each person's individuality. We work quietly, without fanfare, with attention on the person in front of us.

How We Work

Standards We Hold to Every Single Day

Background Verification

Every aide undergoes a thorough background check, reference confirmation, and personal interview before joining the Fernvale team.

Structured Training

All new team members complete Fernvale's internal training covering personal care techniques, safe mobility assistance, nutrition basics, medication handling, and emergency procedures.

Health Observation Protocols

Aides follow a structured observation checklist to monitor wellbeing indicators and communicate changes to the family coordinator in a timely manner.

Privacy & Confidentiality

All personal and health information shared with Fernvale is handled strictly in line with applicable data protection standards. We never share client information without explicit consent.

Ongoing Performance Review

Aides receive regular feedback sessions and care quality reviews. Families are invited to contribute to these evaluations at any time.

Family Partnership

We involve families in care planning and welcome changes in preference. The family's perspective is treated as essential rather than secondary.

In-Home Elder Care Rooted in Taipei's Community

Fernvale operates within Taipei's Songshan District and the broader metropolitan area, supporting families from Zhongshan and Da'an to Neihu and beyond. Our work is rooted in an understanding of Taiwanese family structures — the close ties, the responsibilities, the weight of deciding how to support an aging parent while managing one's own household.

We offer in-home elderly care as an alternative to residential placement — not as a lesser option, but as a considered one. Many families find that their parent does substantially better in familiar surroundings, with a consistent aide who knows their preferences, daily rhythm, and individual nature.

Whether you are managing a short-term respite need, a nighttime supervision concern, or a longer-term requirement for comprehensive daily support, Fernvale approaches each situation without assumptions and with genuine willingness to find what works for the individual in your care.
